This page highlights my own formal learning/study and the organisations and circumstances where I've been in the role of facilitator or teacher of the 'Cello, musicianship and creative practice.
I am interested in how learning through play and creative participation, affects and is complimentary to instrumental and theoretical learning. Participatory practice and music making is fundamentally a social art-form, so it's essence is in human relationships through living, creative and organic people based organisation around music/sound. This is explicitly expressed through improvisation, freely created or process based art, but is also implied in more fixed forms of music whether that be in popular, classical or traditional settings.
I see the role of a musician and artist as a feeder of the communal and roots of all people lives, naturally affecting society at large, whether there is active continuation in the practice of music, or not, those experiences can affect everyone in profound ways.
I am open to contact for private tuition, community workshops and modules both outside and within academic or conservatoire contexts or by individuals and community groups who wish to connect with musicians such as myself who work with people across all spectrums of ability, circumstance and experience, from beginner to old-hand.
